Back to routine.

Back to routine.

Back to routine. Finally. I love routine. Summer is slowly winding down. School has started back. Fall is in the air. Refreshed and learning to reflect. Finding that balance that keeps me grounded. Blogging again. YAY! I love structure and my day scheduled out. I have a hard time being willy nilly, do you? Routine and order keep me from back sliding into bad habits and being undisciplined. I need and thrive on my days being planned out. Too much down time creates that overwhelming feeling for me. I need order in my life.

So what do I do? I get back at it. Strong. Everyday is not perfect but everyday I incorporate a new habit to keep me motivated. Starting my day reading my devotion. Sitting still and reflecting on the day ahead. Pretracking my food. Scheduling my exercise. Making sure I have dinner planned ahead of time. Starting the day off right. Now I’m not saying some mornings are this perfect. There are times of craziness, things don’t go as planned or I’ve got a bad attitude. But taking each new day as it is. Letting go and letting God. Praying. Breathing. Living. Fully.

Ready for new goals with this new routine. What are your goals and dreams for this season? For me. I plan on really learning maintenance. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed my summer eating. But enjoyed too much. I noticed my summer pattern. The past two summers while learning to live healthier, happier, stronger while maintaining has been hard. For me it’s being undisciplined with my weekends. I would fill my days with 2 workouts a day and a long walk. Thinking that this extra activity would make up for my snacking on the weekend. You know what? It didn’t. All the extra workouts just caused my body to be hungry and instead of filling it with fuel. I filled it with crap. So there it is. Lesson learned. You can’t eat like a jerk and expect to not have a gain. Getting back to the basics. Slowing down while the routines set back in.

Here is what I decided. I got rescanned with my amazing friend Melissa. InBody shows you so many things and helps you see where your body is not just by a scale number. I need that. I’m still in my healthy range. I’ve gained more muscle but also sabotaged myself and gained back the fat I lost in May. Am I mad about it? Nah. Just disappointed. I’ve come too far to give up on myself. Realizing now. Not looking back. Not beating myself up. The hard part for me is now. This maintenance thing. I determined to find my routine and strength in maintenance. I WILL DO THIS!

Are you feeling the weight of life bearing down on you? Is your journey harder than you thought it would be? How do you handle it? Pray? Do you write down your goals? Frustrations? Dreams? Have quite time? Journal? Talk to a friend? Dig into God’s word? Worship? Finding time to just breathe? Don’t give up. Don’t be hard on yourself. We have all been there. Struggled. Felt lost. You have to push through. Be strong. Courageous. Fearless. Find your why. Believe in YOU. Love YOU. Embrace YOU. Be YOU.
