Saying see you later. Not goodbye.

Saying see you later. Not goodbye. On July 29th was the hardest day of my life. But the sweetest. My sweet daddy passed away. Peacefully. Without a shadow of doubt his legacy will live on forever. That was his dream. To share the love of Jesus and people to ALL. Without prejudice. With total compassion. With beautiful grace. And pure love. I was raised to love all. No matter what. To forgive. No matter what. To share Jesus. No matter what. Today I can truly say I know what my purpose is. Just like P Steve said. There was no doubt what my daddy’s purpose was. To love ALL. Fully. Without judgment. Sharing his story of true redemption.

My Daddy’s story is beautiful. An alcoholic made new to help others with addiction. It was that simple. He knew what he was called to do. Do you? I pray that I can share his story. To others. To show others that life is not perfect and we are not called to be perfect. We are called to LOVE. Show GRACE. Forgive. Help others. I pray that I do just that. I will. For Jesus. And my daddy.

Tuesday was a hard day. Heart wrenching. We lost our best friend. My mom lost her soul mate. My bubba and I lost our hero. My kiddos and nephews and niece lost their pappy. Their biggest supporter. To see and feel the love for one man I will never forget.

A Daddy’s celebration I saw happy tears. Not sad. The smile on his face, our family’s and his friend’s was absolutely priceless. To say a man lived out exactly what he was called to do is an understatement. You saw it in the hundreds of faces and the stories told who walked threw those doors to pay their last respects. Not saying goodbye but see you soon. It was perfect. Daddy’s life was perfectly imperfect. And that my friends is what this life is all about. Living this life out. Not trying. But doing. Not making sure that this life is done the way we think it should be but the way Jesus laid out our steps.

I want to continue my daddy’s incredible legacy. That’s what I was called to do. I pray that I continue to live just like my daddy did. With no regrets. Fully. One day at a time.

Thank you for allowing me to share our story. My story.

To be continued…

xoxo, jme
